Balance-Cleanse You – OVERVIEW OF DETOXIFICATION
Balance-Cleanse You – Humans are exposed to a wide variety of toxins in body on a daily basis, including chemicals found in foods, the environment, and pharmaceuticals. The liver is the body’s main detoxification organ which provides enzyme systems that safely process and remove toxins in the body as well as unhealthy hormone metabolites. The process of eliminating toxins in body is a very complex system that requires a variety of nutrients for optimal function. The two central pathways of detoxification in the liver are known as Phase I and Phase II. These two phases work together to digest food and render any toxic chemicals within the body less harmful so they can then be excreted from the body. If the liver becomes too overwhelmed with a large number of toxins in body, or if it doesn’t receive the proper nutrients to run correctly, it may leave you feeling sluggish or sick. To combat an overworked liver, many people consider undergoing a colon cleanse, or modifying their diet and detoxing with a liver cleanse.
Balance-Cleanse You – WHAT IS A COLON CLEANSE?
Balance-Cleanse You – For many of us, “liver cleanse” or “detoxification” are not new terms. However, some people may be asking themselves, “what is a colon cleanse and do I need one?” While colon cleanses have been around for centuries, it is a process that not very many people know about. The theory behind a colon cleanse is simple: to physically remove the toxins in body. To begin a colon cleanse, over 15 gallons of fluids are pumped into the colon through a tube that is inserted into the rectum. Once inside the colon, the fluids and waste are released like a normal bowel movement and this process can be repeated until the desired results are met. While this procedure can help to relieve constipation, diarrhea or gas symptoms, the process is very controversial with many proponents claiming that the risks outweigh the rewards.
