About Chen

I began with my journey with food as medicine when my husband became sick from kidney failure. The fear of losing him was so great. I felt helpless as everything rested in the hands of doctors.

But there was one powerful aspect of his care we still had control over.

Food.

Supporting my husband with the right food was so empowering to me and my family. We couldn’t control his disease, but we could help control the progression of it and support his recovery. We could help give his body what it needed to fight back.

Helping others through food soon became my new calling. I went through nutritional school, then spent five years working out of a medical doctor’s office and assisting him with difficult cases.

Today I share my knowledge and clinical experiences through lectures, books, supplements, and my main pleasure—working one on one with clients.

Most of my clients have tried traditional routes but are still searching for answers. Many have even tried other nutritionists before they find me. I enjoy the challenge of working with difficult cases, and I’m honored that my clients trust me to help them and their loved ones promote healing.

Making big changes overnight doesn’t work, but together we can do small, easy steps that add up—and support our bodies as they work to heal us.

I can’t wait to help you and your loved ones.

FAQs

The Functional Medicine domain is a dynamic approach to assessing, preventing, and supporting the complexity of chronic diseases where nutrition and supplements are taking a key role.  Rather than targeting individual symptoms, under functional medicine care, the clinician will be looking for the underlining causes of the symptoms presented, which can be directly influenced by specific dysfunctions as well as genetic, environment and lifestyle.

The goal is to understand and map the clinical imbalances that underlie the expression of a disease. Once mapped – support and improvements to the functional core of human health by bringing back balance in essential body systems.

Diet, nutrients, air, water, exercise, toxins, trauma, genes, attitudes, and beliefs are all part of the process.

The main clinical imbalances within this net complex systems are:

  • Hormonal and Neurotransmitter Imbalances
  • Energy Production on the Mitochondria
  • Oxidation
  • Detoxification
  • Elimination
  • Immune and Inflammatory Imbalances
  • Digestive, Absorption, and Microbiological Imbalances

Structural Imbalances Starting From the Cellular Membrane to the Musculoskeletal System

Nearly 80% of the incidence of chronic diseases worldwide, is due to nutrition and lifestyle. Food – impacts our biological signals and physiology resilience along with metabolic reserves within the tissues and organ systems.

Our food line and dietary patterns have been changed dramatically in the past few decades. The change in food (distribution and composition) leading to so many metabolic changes and biological signals are now leading to a higher risk of all chronic disease and gene expression.

Eating the “wrong” food (even if it is considered healthy) will affect your genes expression and from there the road to develop a disease is shortened.  Nutrition, is the most powerful clinical tool in preventing and supporting selfcare.

There is no one-size-fits-all nutritional plan!

Nutritional Therapy must be personalized, based on the individual lab results, family and medical history, diet, lifestyle, current health conditions, diagnosis and treatment, etc. Nutritional Therapy, is addressing the underlying causes, balancing any nutritional deficiencies or excesses to support the individuals for optimal health.

Most Nutritional Therapy plans are based on real foods and food supplements. The individual owns the program and is fully responsible for applying the suggested protocols. This is NOT the prescribe a passive pill approach.

Results vary by each person. Some people feel dramatic improvement within the first month, others may take a bit longer. Our standard programs are for a minimum of 6-8 months. Remember, your body didn’t fail overnight. Years of stress and illness takes its toll and it takes a proper amount of time to restore. On average it takes one month of repair for each year you’ve suffered from a specific problem.

Chen Ben Asher’s The “Balanced Diet” protocol has been tested and proven to be successful in 95% of the individuals who followed her “Balanced Diet” program. Success was measured, both in the clinical outcomes as well as symptomatically.

With that said, keeping high rate of success is completely depended on the diligence of each client in following their daily protocol keeping the nutritional and lifestyle changes suggested on the nutritional analysis.
